Available Positions

Postdoctoral Position

Two postdoctoral positions are currently available in constructing an experimental platform for single-molecule manipulation and spectroscopic characterization, using single-molecule surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy to investigate proteins, preparing bio-samples (DNA-protein-DNA chimera) for single-molecule pulling experiments. Experience in using optical tweezers, megatic tweezers, atomic-force microscopy (AFM), surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, and tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy to study biomolecules are preferred. Expertise in bio-sample preparations is desired. If you are interested in joining the group, please send an email to Prof. Jinqing Huang with your curriculum vitae, a one-page research proposal, and a list of contact details for three referees.

Graduate Student Position

Two graduate student positions are currently available in developing new methods for single-molecule manipulation and spectroscopy, conducting experiments for protein folding, misfolding and aggregation, and performing computations for big data analysis in biophysical chemistry. The single-molecule research is extremely challenging in both experimental operations and theoretical analysis. It is important to keep a positive attitude towards numerous failures and actively seek for solutions to all kinds of difficulties. Strong practical skills in biological sample preparation, solid theoretical foundations in physical chemistry, and basic programming skill for data analysis would be preferred. If you are interested in joining the group, please send an email to Prof. Jinqing Huang with your curriculum vitae, a one-page research proposal, and a list of contact details for two referees. Outstanding candidates will be nominated for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) and the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP).

Undergraduate Student Position

Several undergraduate student positions are currently available in conducting small research projects. If you are interested in joining the group, please send an email to Prof. Jinqing Huang with a brief description of your background and interests.
